Developing Walking Strategies

A resource booklet for principles and policies to support a greater use of walking within land transport systems

Environment Canterbury has produced a resource booklet for people thinking about developing walking policy or a walking strategy (typically council staff or their consultants). The booklet provides ideas to help strategy developers prepare the policy sections in their strategy, including sample content on what could be included in the policy sections of a walking strategy. It is important to note this booklet is not intended as a complete resource for developing a walking strategy.
