How long will it take to process my consent?

Environment Canterbury is committed to processing consent applications rapidly and within the timeframes specified in the Resource Management Act.  Environment Canterbury receipted 1655 resource consent applications in the past 6 months and decided 1879 applications in the same period.  At present there are 2535 consent applications in process.

The following figures are provided as a guide to resource consent applicants on the likely timeframe for processing consent applications for certain activities.  The figures show the median time between the receipt of an application and the decision on the application for non-notified, limited notified, and publicly notified consent applications within Canterbury over the past six months.  Median timeframes have been given for each activity type that has had five or more decisions on applications in the past six months.  Activities that have not had five or more decisions in the past six months are not shown below.
