Water will be used for the irrigation of 141 hectares of crops and pasture for grazing stock including milking dairy cows, adjacent to the Pareora River between Cannington Road, Cliffs Road and Pareora Gorge Road.

The applicant has applied for resource consents relating to a proposed 49 lot residential subdivision located at Pukaki Downs, State Highway 80, Twizel, at or about map reference NZMS 260 H38:7414- 6882. The following consents have been applied for:

CRC081950  -  to discharge stormwater onto and into land within the subdivision, and into surface waterways, including the Twizel River. The discharges will include stormwater generated during construction of the subdivision and stormwater from roofs, roading and hard-standing areas of the developed subdivision. 

Stormwater discharges may include contaminants such as suspended sediments, hydrocarbons, heavy metals, nutrients and pathogenic micro-organisms.

CRC082092  -  to discharge domestic wastewater into land, which may result in contaminants in the wastewater entering groundwater.  The total maximum volume discharged from each lot will be 1.6 cubic metres per day, with a total maximum volume of 78.4 cubic meters per day discharged from the subdivision.

Wastewater will be discharged to land within each lot at a maximum rate of 50 millimetres per day via a sand trench land application system.  Contaminants in the wastewater may include organic material, nitrogen, phosphorus, heavy metals and micro-organisms.

A consent duration of 35 years is sought for both consents.

Water will be used for stock water; dairy shed use and the irrigation of 24 hectares located on Pareora Gorge Road between Veritys Road and Motukaika Road, Cave.

The applicant has applied for four resource consents related to a private plan change application to the Hurunui District Council seeking to enable some residential development of the site at Gore Bay Road, Gore Bay, North Canterbury at or about map reference NZMS 260 033:3545-1707. The following resource consents have been applied for:

CRC083705 - to discharge stormwater into gullies and ephemeral waterways and into Buxton Creek within the site. Stormwater from roading, hardstand areas and roofs will be directed to stormwater treatment and detention systems prior to being discharged.  The discharge will also include stormwater from exposed soils and materials during construction of the subdivision. Contaminants may include suspended sediments, hydrocarbons, metals, pathogenic micro-organisms and other organic contaminants.

CRC083704 - to discharge treated domestic wastewater to land and odour into air. The maximum discharge rate proposed is 80 cubic metres per day. The domestic wastewater will be treated in a re- circulating textile packed bed reactor and undergo UV disinfection before being discharged to revegetated land via a pressure compensating drip irrigation system at a maximum rate of 2.5 millimetres per day. The contaminants in treated domestic wastewater are known to include pathogenic micro-organisms, nitrogen, phosphorus and biochemical oxygen demand. 

CRC083706 - to discharge water treatment backwash to land via a pressure compensating drip irrigation system at a maximum rate of 2.5 millimetres per day. The predicted discharge rate is 400 litres per hour and 9.6 cubic metres per day. The discharge will include suspended solids, pathogenic micro-organisms and nutrients.

CRC083712 - to undertake works within the bed and margins of Buxton Creek and its tributaries and to disturb soil and clear vegetation within the riparian margin of Buxton Creek as follows:

  1. to construct a bridge over Buxton Creek at or about map reference NZMS 260 O33:3500- 1678;

  1. to construct four culverts, at or about map references NZMS 260 O33: 3538-1705; NZMS 260 O33:3511-1700; NZMS 260 O33:3460-1668 and NZMS 260 O33:3440-1650; and

  2. to construct a stormwater detention pond, at or about map reference NZMS 260 033:3545-1707

The applicant has requested consent durations of 35 years

Water will be used for industrial purposes at the applicant’s meat processing facility and will subsequently be disposed of via irrigation to 220ha of land, at the applicant’s site, Knyvetts Road off Main Rakaia Road, Rakaia.

The applicant has requested a duration of 10 years. This is a replacement application for an existing activity.

The applicant has requested a consent duration of 10 years with a total volume of 400,000 cubic metres of gravel to be extracted over the duration of consent. This application is for a replacement consent of CRC970641 with the same volumes and location
