As part of its strategy to protect, enhance and restore the region’s indigenous biodiversity, Environment Canterbury works closely with its biodiversity partners to achieve the objectives of “A Biodiversity Strategy for the Canterbury region”.
There are a number of work programmes to further the objectives as agreed in “A Biodiversity Strategy for the Canterbury region”, including biodiversity projects funded through the
Environment Enhancement Fund and
Immediate Steps. Biodiversity Officers work with
stakeholders and landowners throughout the region to identify and implement priority actions. You can read about some of these projects in the “
Biodiversity in my area” pages.
