  • Metro Place (off Dyers Road) in Bromley
  • Styx Mill, Styx Mill Road (off the Main North Road) in Redwood
  • Parkhouse Road (off Curletts Road) in Wigram

Banks Peninsula has two transfer stations, as well as collection points for rubbish and recycling.

Domestic Hazardous Waste Drop Off
There are currently domestic hazardous waste drop offs at all three EcoDepots.

The accepted items include:

  • Used oil / automotive liquids
  • Vehicle batteries
  • Old gas cylinders
  • Liquid chemicals
  • Dry chemicals
  • Household Cleaners
  • Paints and solvents
  • Old refrigerators/freezers
  • Old garden herbicides
  • Garden pesticides

The following hazardous waste items are accepted at Barry's Bay:

  • Used oil / automotive liquids
  • Car batteries
  • Old gas cylinders
  • Old refrigerators/freezers

Landfill
Christchurch City’s Burwood Landfill closed in June 2005 and was replaced by the opening of the Kate Valley Sub-Regional Landfill in the Hurunui district. Waste from Christchurch City now goes to Kate Valley.
