The three-dimensional geological model of the Canterbury plains has been developed using Leapfrog™ HYDRO software.
Leapfrog HYDRO™ is developed by ARANZ Geo Limited in Christchurch, New Zealand.
The images shown on the previous pages illustrate various elements of the 3D model building process and highlight some key components.
An integrated 3D software solution for hydrogeological modeling, Leapfrog™ HYDRO allows you to construct conceptual models directly from your data within hours as opposed to spending days manually digitizing data. Models are built through a process of refinement, letting users incorporate hydrogeological interpretations and update with new data as it becomes available.

2. Download a scene file then open the scene file in the Viewer to display the project scenes
3. Using the mouse and keyboard you can:
- Rotate and zoom through the 3D model
- View the model from different orientations for all aspects of the Canterbury Plains
- Slice through the model to see the internal structures
- Use the moving plane tool to obtain dip and dip-azimuth trend information
- Select individual points, intervals and meshes for more information
Experience the Canterbury plains as you have never seen them before!
