A Canterbury-wide Water Measuring Services ‘Request for Proposals’ process was run in May and June 2010 by the Water Meter RFP Panel (please note the RFP has now closed).
Water measuring service and technology suppliers were invited to submit details of their expertise, technical systems, customer support, and pricing, for assessment by the Water Meter RFP Panel (made up of representatives from Rakaia-Selwyn consent holder cluster groups, Environment Canterbury, Irrigation NZ and farmer representatives from throughout Canterbury).
In 2009 a similar RFP process was run for suppliers in the Rakaia-Selwyn groundwater zone.
A total of 71 organisations submitted proposals in 2009 and 2010 with approvals granted in three categories: the supply of technology; installation services; or the supply of data hosting and compliance reporting services.
