This page hosts material for the Canterbury Active Transport (CAT) Forum – a multi-party forum for those within the region who have an interest in the development and promotion of active transport. Agendas, minutes and presentations from each CAT forum can be found here, as can the Terms of Reference for the forum.
The Canterbury Active Transport (CAT) forum was set up to encourage information sharing and cross-sector action in Canterbury between agencies with an interest in Active Transport, including representatives from such sectors as education, environment, health and disability, recreation, sport, tourism, transport and local and national government.
The CAT forum aims to work in collaboration with the Canterbury Regional Active & Passenger Transport Working Group (APTWG) which was established under the auspices of the Regional Transport Committee (RTC).
Overview
The CAT Forum meets on a quarterly basis. Topics for discussion / presentation come from the forum members, with Environment Canterbury responsible for hosting and facilitating the forum meetings.
Terms of Reference
The CAT Forum terms of reference were developed to complement the role of the Active & Passenger Transport Working Group – specifically to allow a wider range of participation in active transport matters amongst stakeholders within the region.
