Enviroschools Canterbury is hosting the Enviroschools Awards 2010 ceremony at Our City Otautahi, Worcester Boulevard at 1.30pm on March 22.
There will be presentations from students of the first green-gold Enviroschool in the South Island – Ashburton Borough, and from the first green-gold early childhood centre in NZ – Kidsfirst Kindergarten Lincoln.
Other schools will also be acknowledged for their efforts in achieving a bronze or silver award in 2009 – Cherry’s Early Learning Centre (Beckenham), Akaroa Area School and from South Canterbury, Morven and Carew Peel Forest and Aoraki Mount Cook.
Environment Canterbury chairman Alec Neill will open the ceremony.
“This is an opportunity for schools to celebrate and be acknowledged for their achievements towards creating a more sustainable school community,” said Enviroschools Canterbury co-ordinator Andrea Creighton.
