Pareora – Waihao River: Water Resource Summary Report R06/20
This report presents the findings of several investigations conducted during the early 2000’s in to the surface water and groundwater resource of the Pareora to Waihao Rivers. The investigations were undertaken to characterise surface/ water groundwater interactions, quantify the surface water resource, describe the nature and occurrence of the groundwater resources, provide estimates of groundwater allocation limits and surface water minimum flows and finally to identify gaps in understanding and future investigations.

Fish Survey of Wainono Lagoon Tributaries Letter – Golders Associates, November 2011
The purpose of the letter, to Canterbury Regional Council staff, was to report the findings from the fish survey that Golders Associates conducted on the 3 and 4 November 2011. The letter outlines the fish findings for those particular days only. This survey will be included within the final ecology report anticipated to be finalised mid 2012.

This report summarises the community consultation that was carried and the technical information received out on the Waihao River and the tributaries of the Wainono Lagoon. Each river or stream is discussed separately and provides a discussion on the efficiency and effectiveness of each of these.

This report provides an ecological assessment of the tributaries of the Wainono Lagoon. The report discusses the methodology used in the assessment, the ecological values at each site and then makes recommendations for further work to be carried out within the catchment.

Cultural and Environmental Flows Values Report Waihao River tributaries and Wainono Lagoon – 2006
The local iwi were asked by the Regional Council to provide additional information on Iwi concerns about water quantity in the Waihao, Waimate and Waiariari (Hook) Rivers and Wainono Lagoon.
During the preparation of this report, consultation was undertaken with Te Runanga 0 Waihao through the Resource Management worker and beneficial owners in the Fenton Reserves, Te Houiri and Puhakati.
The report time frame did not provide for a formal, advertised public hui so such kanohi ki kanohi (face to face) or one on one discussions were used instead. It was indicated in the contract response that Te Runanga 0 Ngai Tahu would be in receipt of the final draft for comment.

Waihao River Economic Impact of minimum flow proposals for McCulloughs Bridge – Harris Consulting 2006
The Regional Council requested Harris Consulting to assess the economic impact on irrigators of lifting the minimum flow to two potential proposed minimum flows of 300 or 380l/s at the McCulloughs minimum flow site.
