Annual Report 2007/08

The effective management and protection of Canterbury’s resources continued to be a focus for Environment Canterbury during 2007/08. The continuing demand on Canterbury’s water supply is an issue that affects much of the regional council’s work. Water is a precious commodity and, therefore, managing the allocation, resource consent process and usage affects our entire community. We are proud of our achievements during the year to improve Canterbury’s air quality, deliver the first region-wide biodiversity strategy and take a role as a key player in developing a regional land transport strategy.
