Variation 6 to Chapter 4, Water Quality of the Proposed Natural Resources Regional Plan (NRRP) was notified 28 July 2010. Variation 6 introduced a new issue, objective, policies and methods, including land use rules and amendments to the existing water quality zone boundaries, relating specifically to the Christchurch Aquifer System. Variation 6 applies to the area of Christchurch City (excluding Banks Peninsula) and also that part of Selwyn District north of Halkett Road.

Variation 6 was withdrawn in part by Council resolution on 21 October 2010. Read the public notice (pdf 51 kB).

Stage in the Variation process: Decisions/Appeals

As of the 23 October 2010, the decisions are considered to have amended the Variation as notified. Any person who made a submission on Variation 6 has the right to appeal decisions on their submission to the High Court, but only on points of law, within 15 days of receiving notification of decisions. Based on the public notice being mailed on 22 October, the 15 day period ends on 16 November 2010. Appeal advice (pdf 28 kB).
