Variation 8 was withdrawn by Council resolution on 21 October and publicly notified on 23 October 2010. Please read the public notice (pdf 38 kB) for information on the withdrawal on Variation 8.

Variation 8 was made in order to give effect to Policy WQN5 of the Proposed Natural Resources Regional Plan (NRRP) whereby the existing minimum flows on the rivers in the Hurunui area, set under individual consents, have been reviewed to take into account the needs of both instream values and those of irrigators. Variation 8 was notified on 25 August 2007. Submissions closed 5 October 2007 and 30 submissions were received. The Summary of Decisions Requested (SODR) was notified on the 9th February 2008. Further Submissions for Variation 8 closed at 5 pm on the 7th March 2008.

Variation 8 has been withdrawn and no longer has any legal standing. The following information is for reference only to clarify what has been withdrawn.
