If your property is listed in the Schedule included in Chapter Three of the Natural Resource Regional Plan or listed as a category B heritage home in the Waimakariri District Plan you will be able to continue to use your open fires or solid fuel burners.
 
There are certain conditions the still need to be met related to the fuel you are burning and the solid fuel burner and chimney must be an original feature of the house.
