It depends on where the pollution took place.

If the spill is on a road controlled by  Transit New Zealand then please call them as they are responsible.

Any other roads, road sides or gutters Territorial Authorities are responsible.

In waterways an Environment Canterbury Environmental Enforcement Officer will follow the incident up.
