Hazardous wastes are unwanted chemicals or materials which have dangerous properties such as corrosiveness, explosiveness, flammability, toxicity, ecotoxicity or capacity to oxidise.
Examples of potentially hazardous waste include:
• used oil
• electroplating sludge
• unwanted agricultural chemicals
• used solvents and cleaning fluids
• used medical instruments
