Farm plastic is a persistent and growing problem for farmers and growers throughout New Zealand.
Agrichemical containers should not be burned as a disposal method because of the potential health risks of the emissions. It is also prohibited to burn them in Canterbury under the Natural Resources Regional Plan (NRRP).
Agrecovery, a nationwide collection and processing scheme for agriculture and forestry sector plastic containers, has been established to ensure that plastic agrichemicals containers are disposed of responsibly.
Follow the triple rinse advice.
See the Agrecovery website for collection sites in Canterbury.
