There are no camping facilities provided in the Waimakariri River Regional Park. Short term camping for up to three consecutive nights only is permitted west of Chattertons Road on the south side of the Waimakariri River and west of Harris Road on the north side of the Waimakariri River provided they are self-contained camps only. The maximum period for freedom camping is 2 weeks in any three month period.
You must supply your own self-contained toilet and take your rubbish home. Fires are not permitted at any time. Gas barbeques or portable cookers are permitted. Please be aware that the fire risk is usually high. Please do not damage any vegetation or disturb wildlife.
