The Annual Compliance Administration charge is for costs associated with ongoing consent management responsibilities which include the administration, supervision and maintenance of resource consents.  It is not for physical compliance monitoring on site visits/inspections

There are two components to the resource consent compliance monitoring charges; an annual fee of $63.25 (incl. GST) and a site inspection (monitoring) charge of $75.90 (incl. GST) per hour. 

 

Every consent holder will incur the $63.25 annual fee for each consent they hold.  For those consent holders who also receive a site inspection or there is a reason to actively monitor their consent will also be charged $75.90 per hour for time spent completing the monitoring.
What has changed is the allocation of the costs (of services) that are applicable to all resource consent holders. The administration charges were calculated by spreading the total cost of these administrative charges (required to manage all consents) equally among consent holders. It is a budget neutral exercise and no increased revenue has been collected.  Under the new system all consents receive the annual fee.
