Submissions to the Regional Gravel Management Report supported ECan as being the lead agency for gathering and analysing fluvial gravel data and making that information available to the extractive industry.

 

The level of charging to fund this work is minimal in comparison to the charges in other regions, and compared to individual applicants undertaking surveys and producing reports proving that gravel is available and that it can be extracted without any adverse effects on the environment for each of their applications.
