Environment Canterbury works with land occupiers to ensure that pest plants and animals are controlled.
Pest plants and animals are those that threaten land production, land management and the environmental values people place on production and recreational resources. The Biosecurity Act enables the Council to eradicate or manage pest plants and animals as specified in regional pest management strategies.
