Groundwater chart

This well M36/1159 has a Chloride concentration of 680 Cl mg/l (Nov 2010) due to saltwater intrusion from the Estuary. The average groundwater level at this well should stay above 1m +MSD to avoid further contamination. The level in the well is used to restrict groundwater users in the area by 1/3 if any of the average levels fall below the corresponding trigger level as indicated in the plot. The chloride level has been dropping steadily from 2300mg/l since 2001. Ecan report U99/76.
