It is possible to copy and paste the contents of the results table in Environment Canterbury's online GIS directly into the spreadsheet row by row. If you are using a part of a block, you will only be able to copy the PAW and Rainfall values. If a block of land is completely covered, you can use the Hectares value from the results table as well as the PAW and rainfall. To do so:

1. Position the mouse pointer at the beginning of the text (in this example the mouse is positioned at the beginning of the hectares value - see below.
2. Hold the mouse button down and drag the pointer across the text - it should be highlighted as you do so (Figure 16). Continue across until all of the text you wish to copy in that row is highlighted, continuing to hold the mouse button down until the end.

3. Position the mouse over some part of the highlighted text, right click and choose copy from the popup menu (Figure 17).

4. Go to the Excel spreadsheet and click the mouse in the column in an empty row that represents the column you started your copy in Step 1 e.g. if you started to copy in the Hectares field in the online GIS results table, click the Area column of the row in the spreadsheet. After clicking, the cell should be highlighted in a thick black outline (Figure 18).

5. Right-click the cell and choose the paste option from the popup menu (Figure 19).

6. The details from the online GIS should be copied into the cells in the spreadsheet (Figure 20). Please check that the numbers in the spreadsheet are in the correct column before proceeding. Note that the colour formatting will be overwritten by this process - this is normal.
7. Repeat this process for as many rows as necessary and then continue the process as normal.
