Come along to a nassella tussock field day in the Lower Waitaki

We are hosting a day for the public to come along and see live nassella tussock plants and learn how to identify them in the field.

Nassella is an invasive pest that spreads easily, is unpalatable to stock, and reduces pasture quality.

During the afternoon, we will discuss:

  • the history of nassella tussock in Canterbury
  • the plant's biology
  • farm biosecurity, hygiene practices and pathway management: how to prevent the spread of nassella tussock and other pests onto your property.

Date: 30 May 2022

Time: 1.00pm - 4.00pm
