Hurunui Mahinga Kai & Biodiversity – Part 2
Crayfish in your drain? Lizards in your kānuka? Mudfish in your creek? Mahinga kai is about the value of natural resources – our birds, plants, fish, and other animals and resources that sustain life.
Join our host, farmer John Faulkner and mahinga kai facilitator Makarini Rupene, who will share their knowledge and understanding of mahinga kai within the Hurunui context. Learn how mahinga kai and biodiversity benefits farms, see real examples of actions supporting mahinga kai, and get practical advice on in-stream health and monitoring. Open to both adults and kids, we will turn over rocks to discover insects and invertebrates and look for tuna/eels and more in waterways.
