Resource Management Awards

The Resource Management Awards are a special category in the Science and Technology Fairs held in Christchurch and Timaru.

They are judged by our staff with prizes awarded to students whose exhibits take an innovative investigative approach to solving an environmental issue facing Canterbury.

For details of the fair, held on Saturday 18th September2021 visit the website of Canterbury-Westland Science and Technology Fair.

If your school is in South Canterbury, please contact Adele Quinn for information about the Timaru based fair to be held 8–9 September 2021.

The fair organisers encourage all schools interested in entering to use supporting materials provided through the Science Award Trust, which offers science badges across a range of areas.

Another really useful site for great science & technology activities is Curious Minds.

Our education team can help you prepare for these awards. Contact us to book a class visit and check out our useful resources. You can also subscribe to our youth engagement and education newsletters.

Best of the best

Each year, the winners of the Environment Canterbury School Award, in both the junior and senior categories at the Christchurch and Timaru fairs, present their exhibits at a special council meeting at our Christchurch office. The overall winner is awarded the Wrybill Trophy.

The annual Wrybill Award Day will be held at Environment Canterbury on Thursday 7th October 2021.
