Conditions

  1. This approval applies only to the specific model described in the testing reports, documents and
    drawings accompanying the application for authorisation.



    Advice note:
    Any necessary building consents, for the installation of the appliance, must be obtained from the
    appropriate district or city council.
  2. A permanent label shall be attached to each appliance in a position that is readily visible after
    installation. The label shall contain the following information:
    1. The manufacturer of the appliance (Roaring Meg Fires);
    2. The unique model name (Roaring Meg Eco);
    3. The unique serial number of the appliance;
    4. The number of the test report in which the appliance is described (21/3046);
    5. The name and address of the testing agency (Applied Research Services Limited, Beatty Street, Stoke, Nelson, New Zealand);
    6. The authorisation number (CRC214005);
    7. The approved fuel for use in the heater (softwood);
    8. The measured (average) particulate emission rate in grams per kilogram (0.50g/kg);
    9. The measured emission rate per unit of useful heat output (35 mg/MJ);
    10. The percentage measure of thermal efficiency (67%);
    11. The maximum average heat output tested (7.5 kW);
    12. The range of average heat outputs tested (4.8 – 7.5 kW);
    13. The statement “Performance may vary from test values depending on the actual operating conditions”; and
    14. Space to allow the installer to place the date of installation.
  3. There shall be no circulation fan fitted to the appliance.
  4. There shall be no wetback fitted to the appliance.
  5. The appliance shall be operated at all times in accordance with the “Installation and Operating
    Instructions” supplied with each appliance.
  6. The only fuel to be used in this appliance shall be wood that meets the following criteria:
    1. Less than 25% moisture (dry weight);
    2. Has not been treated with preservatives or impregnated with chemicals or glue;
    3. Is not chipboard, particle board, or laminated board; and
    4. Is not painted, stained, or oiled.
