RMA section 35 monitoring summary report
Since late 2024, we have been undertaking a section 35 review of our regional planning framework. Under the Resource Management Act (RMA), Councils are to undertake a review of the efficiency and effectiveness of the framework every 5 years. In addition to fulfilling our statutory obligations, the review will also provide an important evidence base for future planning and for engaging with Central Government on current and future Resource Management reforms. This report is the first part of the process, and the full review is expected to be completed by the end of 2025.
