Baccharis stands under 4m tall, with oblong, toothed leaves and cream-coloured flowers, visible from February to May. This evergreen shrub reduces livestock movement and suppresses native plant species in some habitats.

  • Evergreen shrub with many branches, under 4m tall.
  • Stems are ribbed and mealy when young, becoming smooth with age.
  • Leaves are oblong, toothed and alternate.
  • Flowers are small, cream and visible from February to May.
  • Seeds are dispersed by wind and water.
  • Habitats include rock crevices, open and dry hillsides, pastures, and wastelands.
