Canterbury Land and Water Regional Plan
The Canterbury Land and Water Regional Plan (CLWRP) (PDF File, 14.99MB) is operative.
It incorporates Plan Changes 1-7 and aims to help deliver community aspirations for water quality in urban and rural areas.

Plan Change 7
Plan Change 7 was made fully operative from 10 March 2025. At the council meeting on 26 February 2025, the Council resolved to make Plan Change 7 fully operative from 10 March 2025.
Review
The NRRP was reviewed, and the CLWRP was developed to replace it.

CLWRP has been publicly notified.

Submissions on the CLWRP are closed.

Hearings commenced.
Decisions
Report and recommendations of the hearing commissioners adopted by Council as its decision on 5 December 2013.
Appeals
There were 10 appeals against the CLWRP and these have been resolved.

The plan was made operative on 1 September 2015.
