Lodge your consent

Use our resource consent forms and find information about how to apply and pay for your application.

Application requirements and lodgement process

Need help with your application? Our pre-application service will help ensure your application includes all the relevant information so we can process it efficiently.

Before you lodge your application with us, please make sure your application includes:

  • Name and address of the applicant
  • A location plan
  • An accurate description of what you want to do
  • An assessment of the likely effects on the environment, both positive and negative. This must include effects on land, air, water and other people, and a description of what you intend to do to avoid, remedy or mitigate any adverse effects
  • A record of any consultation with neighbours, iwi and any other affected parties

When your application is ready, please:

Please note that no payment is needed at the time of lodgement.

After you have lodged your application, we will be in touch within 10 working days to either confirm your application has been accepted for processing and explaining what will happen next, or let you know that we are unable to process your application and what action you need to take. It is at this time that we will also issue you an invoice.

Paying for your consent application

You'll need to pay for your application only after you have lodged it and once you hear from us whether your application has been accepted for processing or returned as it didn’t have all the required information. It is also at this time that we will send you an invoice with all the relevant details.

For more information on specific costs, see our Consent fees and charges page.

Online payment

Once you receive our invoice for your consent application, our preferred payment method is online. This allows us to match your payment to your application faster, potentially speeding up the consent process.

To pay the invoice by credit/debit card, click on the below ‘Pay for your consent application’ button. You will be taken to Windcave (a secure third-party payment platform).
