Isaac Construction Limited has applied for consent to extract gravel between approximately 10.06km and 14.08km upstream of the confluence of the Waimakariri River with the coastal marine area.

We have received an application from Isaac Construction Limited for resource consent CRC242328, CRC242330, and CRC242331, to extract 700,000 cubic metres of gravel from the bed of the Waimakariri River, between approximately 10.06km and 14.08km upstream of the confluence of the Waimakariri River with the coastal marine area.

Resource consent is also sought for the installation and removal of temporary culverts and associated discharge of sediment to water, and to discharge dust to air associated with handling of extracted gravels.
A consent duration of five years has been sought.

Any person may make a written submission on the applications. Still, a person who is a trade competitor of the applicant may do so only if that person is directly affected by an effect of the activity to which the application relates:
(a) adversely affects the environment; and
(b) does not relate to trade competition or its effects.

Where there are no submitters to be heard and a hearing is not required the decision-making Is undertaken by the Council committee and/or delegated staff.
