Attention irrigating farmers - CropX bucket test app being withdrawn
The CropX bucket test app will be discontinued after 31 December 2024. Explore alternative tools for assessing your irrigation system.
We have been informed that the CropX bucket test app will no longer be available after 31 December 2024.
The decision to discontinue the app comes after a review of its use which identified ongoing maintenance required for Apple and Android devices. If the app is downloaded on your phone, it won’t work in the new year.
Leonie Fechney, Team Leader Regional Water and Land, said that although the app had been helpful to many farmers, advances in effective irrigation assessment methods had made it less competitive.
“We understand this change may be a surprise to farmers who are relying on the app,” Fechney said.
“However, alternative tools and resources are available to meet your needs to ensure you can evaluate your irrigation system accurately. The key will be testing which alternative works best for you.”
“Whether you’re doing a simple bucket test or a more thorough audit, there are options that could suit you,” Leonie said.
