We have received an application from Glenturret Farm Limited for resource consents CRC244979, CRC24505,1 CRC245052, CRC250012, CRC250013 to (respectively):

  • use land for farming
  • divert water
  • disturb bed of river
  • take and use surface water for irrigation
  • discharge water to natural inland wetlands.

Proposed activities

The proposed activities are located at Hurunui Mouth Road and Darrochs Road, Domett (respectively):

  • Use land for farming, including an irrigation area of land, up to 322 hectares. The application is a renewal and amalgamation of farming land use consents, CRC171468 and CRC146168, which authorise 390 hectares of irrigation.
  • Divert water within the Hurunui to facilitate the taking of water. The application is a renewal and amalgamation of water permits CRC145402 and CRC245049.
  • Disturb the bed of the Hurunui River. The application is a renewal and amalgamation of CRC167378 & CRC245037.
  • Take water at a rate of 200 litres per second of A block and 50 litres per second of B block, with a volume not exceeding 2,063,356 cubic metres per year to irrigate a total area of 322 hectares. The application is a renewal and amalgamation of water permits CRC145402, CRC143743 & CRC17021,8 which authorise 2,606,159 cubic metres per year.
  • Discharge irrigation water to natural inland wetlands. This is a new application.

An expiry date of 1 January 2035 has been sought for all five applications.
