Decision

The existing consent authorises the use of land for farming in the Lake Heron and the Māori Lakes Nutrient Allocation Zones (as defined in the Canterbury Land and Water Regional Plan). CRC166953 expires on 5 May 2031.

This public notice summarises the notice of review served on the consent holders.

The review is of conditions 2, 3 and 4 of the consent, which currently require:

  • A Farm Environment Plan is to be kept and followed at all times under Appendix CRC166953.
  • Auditing of the Farm Environment Plan within the first 12 months and ongoing audits following Part C of Appendix CRC166953.
  • The achievement and maintenance of at least a B grade in audits.

The purpose of the review is to ensure that the conditions of resource consent CRC166953 are appropriate (regarding the Canterbury Land and Water Regional Plan and other relevant planning documents) to manage the effects of farming activities on freshwater.

No specific changes to conditions were proposed by us as part of the notice of review.
