- On 17 July 2024, we received a resource consent application from Ecogas for the operation of an organics processing facility in southern Hornby.
- It was determined that this consent should be limited notified to adjoining properties and ‘sensitive activities’ - as defined by the Canterbury Air Regional Plan - within 300 metres of the proposed site.

Notified application
We received an application from Ecogas Limited Partnership for a discharge to air consent to discharge contaminants associated with the operation of a waste processing facility.
The facility will accept waste organic material and, via an anaerobic digestion process, will produce biogas, biofuel and a liquid digestate.
The proposed facility will be located at 17-21 Aruhe Road, Hornby, legally described as Lots 37-39, DP 572509.
The following resource consent was sought:
