Change helps future-proof network
Our councillors approved the fare change in July 2025, following Greater Christchurch’s fare change earlier in the month.
“We’re reminding customers of this change ahead of time, so that they can keep this in mind for their travels in late January,” public transport core service lead Councillor Joe Davies said.
Cr Davies said the Council worked to keep the fare increases as minimal as possible.
“We’ve tried to keep costs as low as possible, because we know that even small changes can have an impact on individual and household budgets,” Cr Davies said.
“We’re proud of the services we provide to South Canterbury, including our MyWay service which gives customers a lot of flexibility with their travels and is now a permanent fixture. This increase is helping us future-proof our network,” he added.
