- Ecosystem
- A system of interacting terrestrial or aquatic living organisms within their natural and physical environment. In Section 2 of the Resource Management Act, ecosystems and their constituent parts are part of the environment and include people and communities. In Chapter 9 of the CRPS – Ecosystems and indigenous biodiversity, “ecosystems” are limited to natural ecosystems that do not include people and communities
- Ecosystem services
- The range of direct and indirect benefits that humans receive from the natural environment
- Evapotranspiration
- Loss of water from the soil both by evaporation from the soil surface and by transpiration from the leaves of the plants growing on it

- Emissions Trading Scheme
