- Recruitment
- Is the process whereby new individuals are added to a population, this may include by birth, maturation, or immigration. Often it can be interpreted as the number of young, small fish that survive to become older, larger fish
- Regulating services
- The processes in which ecosystems act as regulators - such as decomposition, pollination and water and soil purification
- Reticulation
- Is when a service is provided via network infrastructure
- Rill erosion
- Rill erosion occurs when runoff water forms small channels as it concentrates down a slope
- Run-of-river
- Run-of-river takes are water takes that are used directly rather than being stored for use later. They are considered to be A block takes with the most reliable access to water
