The applicant seeks consent to allow for the continued discharge of treated wastewater from the Hanmer Springs Wastewater Treatment Plant into the Chatterton River for a period of 20 months.
Wastewater will be discharged after receiving treatment within the Hanmer Springs Wastewater Treatment Plant. The location, quality and quantity of the discharge are not changing from what has been occurring over the past 15 months under the existing discharge consent CRC173068.
The purpose of the consent application is to allow sufficient time for the construction of a land disposal system to replace the existing discharge to the Chatterton River.
