 CRC145237 – to take water from a storage dam at Gormans Road, Hakataramea Valley, authorised under resource consent CRC040988, located at map reference NZTM 2000 1409551 mE, 5074263 mN. Water will be taken at a rate not exceeding 345 litres per second, with a volume not exceeding 3,169,600 cubic metres per year for the irrigation of up to 500 hectares.

 Existing resource consent CRC051766 allows for water to be taken at a rate not exceeding 200 litres per second, with a volume not exceeding 1,540,000 cubic metres per year for the irrigation of up to 275 hectares. CRC145237 seeks to replace CRC051766.

 Associated consents held by the consent holder, but are not subject to this application are:

  1. resource consent CRC040989 to divert water into the dam from the Grampians Stream at a rate not exceeding 1,000 litres per second and a volume not exceeding 4,140,000 cubic metres per year.  No more than 50% of the flow in the Grampions Stream shall be diverted, and this diversion of water shall cease when the flow in the Hakataramea River at the Main Highway (SH82) recorder site is estimated by the Canterbury Regional Council falls below 4.5 cubic metres per second. No changes to CRC040989 are sought.
  2. The storage dam authorised under resource consent CRC040988 shall not exceed 2,600,000 cubic metres and shall be no higher than 23 metres. The dam shall maintain a residual flow in Morton Stream. No changes to CRC040988 are sought.

 A consent expiry of 19 July 2045 years is sought.
