The applicant seeks to extend a marine farm located in Big Bay, Banks Peninsula, at 1590974mE / 5170949mN. This consent replaces CRC011429 which expires on 18 September 2018. The proposed farm will incorporate a total area of 13.17 hectares (ha), the farm will consist of 16 backbone lines in three blocks.
The following species will be cultivated and harvested: Green Shell Mussels (Perna canaliculus), and Blue Shell Mussels (Mytilus edulis)
CRC175136 – Coastal permit to erect a marine farm, including occupation and disturbance of the seabed with anchoring devices, take and discharge of coastal water, and discharge of biodegradable and organic waste matter into the coastal marine area in Big Bay, Banks Peninsula.
A consent duration of 35 years is sought.
Submissions must be received by Environment Canterbury not later than 5 p.m. on Wednesday 17 October 2018.
