Timaru asked to name new public transport service
Environment Canterbury is searching for a name for its new on-demand public transport service, which will begin in Timaru next year.
South Canterbury Operations Manager, Judith Earl-Goulet, says Timaru locals are being asked to name their service.
“On-demand public transport is all about improving public transport for Timaru, so it makes sense that those who will use it, name it. The flexibility of the new service means it will suit more people, more often, with the convenience of being able to travel anywhere in Timaru,” she said.
“The service offers an enormous opportunity for Timaru citizens, and it’s going to mean thinking a little differently about how you get around.”
