The Canterbury Regional Council has received applications from Isaac Conservation Trustees Limited (the applicant) for a non-consumptive take and use of water permit and a discharge permit at 22 McArthurs Road, Harewood, Christchurch (also known as Peacock Springs Wildlife Park). The applicant proposes to take surface water from an artificial water course to use within five existing raceways previously used for salmon production, to rear juvenile Chinook salmon. The water (including contaminants) will then be discharged back to the artificial watercourse and subsequently to Ōtukaikino Creek.
CRC233674: to take water from an artificial watercourse at a rate not exceeding 300 L/s, with a volume not exceeding 7,801,900 cubic metres between 1 July and the following 30 June.
CRC233675 to discharge water and contaminants (fish food, fish excreta and Chloramine-T) into an artificial watercourse at a rate not exceeding 300 L/s with a volume not exceeding 7,801,900 cubic metres between 1 July and the following 30 June.
